Sons of Fenris

Hello children. Welcome to the 41st millenium, where chaos rules all, and I, High Sorcerer Ahriman, am the master of Chaos.

Ok, so I know I'm on and off of here alot. But I have alot going on in my personal life at any given time. Lately my pocketbook has been hurting, so I've found a new project for myself. The Sons of Fenris.

The Sons of Fenris is an idea I've had for awhile that I'm finally moving forward with: a dual book(or more) army. They are being built as Khornate renegade Space Wolves, led by the sinister lord Einar Wolftongue, and the dark rune priests Haakon the Fallen and Amlodhi Frostmoon.

Pics will be up soon, but my list at competition is as follows(using the Space Wolf codex):

Wolf Lord - 220
Runic Armour, Wolftooth Necklace, Frost Axe, Storm Shield, Saga of the Bear

Rune Priest - 100
Jaws of the World Wolf, Tempest's Wrath

Rune Priest - 100
Jaws of the World Wolf, Living Lightning

Grey Hunters x9 - 185
Meltagun, Wolf Standard, Drop Pod

Grey Hunters x10 - 200
Meltagun, Plasmagun, Wolf Standard, Drop Pod

Grey Hunters x10 - 200
Meltagun, Plasmagun, Wolf Standard, Drop Pod

Grey Hunters x10 - 165
Meltagun, Plasmagun, Wolf Standard

Long Fangs x6 - 140
Missile Launcher x5

Long Fangs x6 - 140
Missile Launcher x5

Aegis Defense Line - 100
Quad Gun Emplacement

Dark Angels on the Mind

Hello children. Welcome to the 41st millennium, where chaos rules all, and I, Lord Ahriman, am the master of Chaos.

Today, while nursing a hangover, I've finally gotten some 1 on 1 time with the new dark angels codex. Lots of great stuff in here, and I hope to see 6th edition continue with the trend of balanced codices. With all the new stuff, this is the kind of list I'm expecting to see around my FLGS, everyone seems to be on an Azrael kick. I personally enjoy non-special character lists with dark angels, but that's just me.

Azrael

Deathwing Terminators x5
Cyclone missile launcher, chainfist

Deathwing Terminators x5
Cyclone Missile Launcher, Chainfist

Ravenwing attack squadron x5
Meltagun x2, Vet Sergeant

Ravenwing Attack squadron x5
Meltagun x2, vet sergeant

Dark Talon

Dark Talon

Veteran Squad x10
Plasmagun x2, plasma cannon, rhino, storm shield x2, power fist

Something along these lines is what I expect to see... alot of people are saying Azrael is essential, though I disagree, I think diversity and a high model count are far more important than troop bikes and terminators.

Stay frosty, guys. These loyalists scum have some shenanigans to use against us.

New Year, New Seasons

Hello children. Welcome to the 41st millennium, where chaos rules all, and I, Lord Ahriman, am the master of Chaos.

Today we have tournament lists in the making. The two big events I'm prepping for right now are Contest of Champions at great escape games in Sacramento at 1250 points, and the Bay Area Open GT at 1750. CoC will be this coming saturday, and I'm hoping to do well with my list. This is the first year that there is no composition scoring, and I'm not going to be penalized for running Ahriman and Thousand Sons. So, that said, here is the list for CoC:

Heavy hitting, tough army, with some serious nastiness. The new FAQs that released today stated two crucial things for this chaos marine list:

1: If Typhus uses the Destroyer Hive while in a challenge, everyone hit by the template is affected as normal.

2: A Heldrake's weapons count as turrets, measuring from the base, for the purpose of line of sight.

I look forward to testing both of these armies out, and while the 1250 will be a very quick test, the 1750 will not be until march - hence the all-new chaos army that I will attempt to collect and paint by then.

Battle reports to follow this weekend, hopefully some battles against the new Dark Angels too.
